Why are we unique?

Abacus has adopted all the principles of a voluntary risk management organisation.

The Board has set up a number of committees to monitor and control the association administration and finances, claims services, other services and publicity:

Claims Committee
If you have the misfortune to have a liability claim you are not on your own.

The Claims Committee members are experienced practitioners appointed from the Board who provide necessary assistance upon the technical accounting aspects of any problem as well as judgement from the point of view of experienced practising professionals.

Insurance Quality Committee
The Insurance Quality Committee monitors the insurance facilities.

This ensures that the coverage available to members is of a high quality and incorporates all leading edge liability insurance concepts available from the insurance market with enhanced terms and options tailored to meet the needs of Members.
  

   

Membership & Marketing Committee
The Membership and Marketing Committee maintains the recruitment and marketing activities of the Group.

This Committee also keeps members appraised of the good features of Abacus and considers from time to time enhanced benefits that may be introduced.

Education Committee Activities
The Education Committee identifies areas where assistance to members can be provided on loss prevention and risk management techniques.

The Education Committee is also charged with providing a regular Newsletter (Abacus Alert). The publication contains information on the activities of the Association, "highlights some of the traps and pitfalls" in professional practice and other issues of interest to members.
